Big Lake "Snow Camp" - March 11-13, 2022
This year we were blessed with gorgeous weather of sun and snow! The time spent together was sweet--playing, eating, and fellowshipping together! The time passed too quickly.
Friday Cat ride time: meet at 2:30. Park at Benson Sno-Park. Purchase permit ahead of time at BiMart, REI, Salem Summit, etc. Get 3 one-day passes ($18 total) or an annual pass. There are bathrooms at the Sno-Park and a warming shelter with a wood stove.
The ride in from the parking lot is either on an open-sided trailer ('snow-cat') or on inner tubes pulled behind the snow-cat. You may get wet, though there is a wood stove in the headquarters and heat in the rooms.
What to Bring:
-Snow Clothes, gloves, hat, boots. Prepare for wet (rain or snow).
-warm sleeping bag, pillow
-if you have them, cross country skiis, sleds, or snowshoes are fun additions. (They're also available for rent, but we need to ask ahead of time.)
-toiletries, towel for shower, etc.
-Bible, book to read, table games for Saturday night fun
-guitar or other instrument (it will have a safe dry place to ride in.) :)
-Sunday lunch (You can leave food in your car for Sunday lunch and eat at the warming shelter at Benson Sno-Park before heading home if you want. There is a wood stove there and picnic tables.)
